The staff, your Parent Teacher Association, and I welcome you and your child to the Downey Community School. It is our expectation that your child's time with us will be both enjoyable and educationally fulfilling.

However, it cannot begin to tell the story of a school that is expansive in size and alive with the activity of hundreds of children and adults. Important Changes to the 25-26 Academic Calendar

Due to extensive cancellations this winter because of weather, the district is amending the academic calendar so that April 3 (Good Friday) will be a full day, and so that school will end on Friday, June 26. The last day will also be a full day of school rather than an early release day.
