The staff, your Parent Teacher Association, and I welcome you and your child to the Downey Community School. It is our expectation that your child's time with us will be both enjoyable and educationally fulfilling.
 
This web page has been designed to give you some ideas about Downey School. However, it cannot begin to tell the story of a school that is expansive in size and alive with the activity of hundreds of children and adults. Under state law, DESE is required to review a small number of districts each year, and they select a variety of districts based on size, geographic location, setting, and student performance. There will be an opportunity for parents to take part in this important process.

All Brockton Public Schools, buildings, and programs will be closed through February 27, 2026 due to continuing storm cleanup. BHS drama and boys' basketball students should expect additional outreach regarding their programs.
